Ms. Adkins-Derrick enriched the presentation with historical documents & artifacts that highlighted Jackie Robinson’s numerous trailblazing moments and history-making military serviceman firsts that pre-dated his debut in Major League Baseball in contrast to the 1944 court-martial trial that prematurely threatened to end his military career, reputation, and future civilian employability in the major leagues.
